I wear a watch to tell time, and for no other reason (like, impressing anybody). For that reason I wear a plastic Timex for running and traveling (nice alarms), and a Skagen for most other purposes. For evenings out with my squeeze, it's a Raymond Weil with leather band (again, not impressive; just classic, and easy to read).

So what does that say about me?

On the same topic. Have any of you guys bought one of the cool watches in the BMW Magazine?

Several brands advertize in the mag. As I read the articles I always pause and admire the watches. I have yet to buy one.

I think this is an awesome poll. I've always thought that Omega was the BMW of watches whereas Rolex is the Mercedes of watches. Omega is on par with Rolex, but a little more athletic and sporty.

I wear a vintage Rolex. Acrylic lens, self-winding, but I enjoy the feel of a manual wind every few days.

i wonder ....

no one like Panerai or Breitling
i love my panny for formal and breitling for sporty looks,
and no comparison between omega and rollies,
omega is like honda accord where rolex is a merc or bimmer, IMHO.

I don't wear a watch...no choice for me.

Yes, this is WAY off-topic and will be moved to GD tomorrow morning.

Tissot fan here.

Not alot of people wear their watches. I am a huge fan. Sapphire Crystal lens, decent price, good quality.

I realliy like their moto oriented watches and their James Bondish T-touch series.. Presently I have on a T-Race.

For me super high dollar watches do nothing. I am more in line with function than flare.

The off topic section has a plethora of watch threads. I doubt we really need another one over there or anywhere for that matter.

Watches are archaic and worthless. Expensive watches are the equivalent of gold teeth - all about the bling.

That's a bold statement, no pun intended. Seriously though, I think Omegas are more comparable to Tag and Breitling. Just becuase 007 wore both doesn't mean they are in the same league.

Where's Daytona John? He's all over these watch threads like stink on sh!t. Actually, he would need an "All of the above" choice!

Lately I seem to wear my Casio G-Shock in lieu of the Rolex. I'm in the middle of a house renovation so I got tired of switching the Rolex out every day. PITA.
I like wearing the G-Shock better because it's lighter and I don't have to worry about banging it up. It's not as nice looking but it gets the job done better!

I'm guessing you're big on watches? I think a rolex is like putting gold spinner dubs on a bmw. to each his own.

Currently, I have a 2 year old Citizen and 7 year old Seiko. Three more years to my next watch!
