My 335i is Offically ordered

Hi all,

Doug Denoon from Edmonton BMW called me just 5 minutes ago and Guess what? My car can now be entered in the system and the order can commence. We went over my configuation and he placed the order.

Doug told me that when they get an actual build date he will give me a call and give me my VIN number, pricing and all of that official stuff. I was also told that depending on how quickly the car gets to production I may see it by the middle to the end of August.

My car is configured as follows:

Congrats.... it certainly has the appearance of a 6 series baby brother at least the front to me.... I like the wheels and the interior choice definately took some balls good job)

That's a really nice interior combo...........I hope the red stays as red as it looks, and not the terra (no offense to terra lthr owners, but it just isnt my taste)

I test drove two 330i's, one with Active Steering and one without. Personally I like the quicker ratio of the active steering at lower speeds. When it first came out it had some quirks, but now, BMW has since refined the system and it feels great now.

No real explanation for this one just that it is a novel idea and I like gadgets.........the car has every option possible except for the CD Changer. The only reason I didn't get the CD Changer is because I am going to be using an I-Pod so it is not necessary. Also If I decide I need the Changer later the dealer can Install it quite easily.

Good deal! PCS called me today to discuss picking the car up at the Munich factory. Hopefully now they can enter orders and I will know exactly when it'll happen!

The wheels really make the car! I wonder what they'd run to add to my 330i.

i never liked the red interior.. but it looks freaking awesome in the E92...

any idea on the price yet?

I have to wonder how all these pre orders will affect dealer markup. I mean people seem to be accepting the fact that MSRP will be what the dealers get in the begining. But when a dealer has a list of people waiting for the car, and limmited cars to sell it is a real sellers market. If the first guy on the list doesn't like the price, they can try the 2nd guy and so on.

And I also have to wonder if BMW is paying attention to all those who ordered without even knowing the price. A move like that speaks a lot about the demand and how much people are willing to pay. So will this kind of thing affect US pricing? Was it at all like this when the E90 first came out as far as pre orders? Was any other model this hyped?

Did you say if you even test drove it? I could never buy a car that I haven't seen with my own eyes. You are a brave man for buying without knowing the price or test driving. Nice car though. Just make sure you are careful being an early adopter. But I guess its awesome being the first guy with the first car in the state.

I doubt BMW would set their long term strategic pricing and its impact on overall sales by the desire to capitalise on initial revenue. That's why dealers add their "market adjusted value" line item. People have a general idea of the car's price based on historical sedan / coupe pricing and the understanding that BMW might bump it a little.

What is the Canadian pricing for the 335i?

Not sure yet.......It has not been offically released. I will post pricing as soon as my dealer gets it to me (Although it will probably be on The Fest before the dealer gets it).

Well how many people do you think have ordered this car without knowing the price at this point? IIRC the 3 series sells close to a hundred thousand a year in the US, and my guess is that the number of people that already have placed an order is rather insignificant to BMW.
