BMW has banned Farago and his blog, The Truth About Cars, from getting press vehicles, and the reason is really funny.

Meh. "You can only drive our cars if you say something nice." That's why so many of the US car magazines suck these days; they spend too much time kissing the manufacturer's butts rather than giving the good and bad news on a car. While I don't always agree with TTAC's assessments, I do enjoy their coverage. While it is an itty-bitty site in the large scheme of things, BMW does seem very silly in their response.

I now have a new appreciation of the Flying V, i.e. B9 Tribeca!

I'm going to start an auto review website, and then bitch when none of the auto makers give me free cars to drive. While BMW's reasons seemed lame, its their right not to give FREE cars to someone they don't appove. He can still go buy cars to review like CR does, so no censorship is involved here.

Besides, they aren't ripping on him for the bad SMG review - pretty much ever major car rag has hated it.
