I got a price quote of 33,035.00 + fees in Bay Area, for a -
2006 BMW 325i 4-Dr Sedan 6-speed manual transmission Titanium Silver/Black Leather, Burl Walnut Wood Trim Premium Package (ZPP) Is this a good deal ? I was in a hurry to buy a car as I am driving a rental car right now. I got this quote from the Internet department and when I later went to the store to negotiate the price, the sales person said this was a ridiculously low price. I bought his words and paid a 1000 bucks deposit. Today I received a quote of 32,108.00 for the same configuration from another dealer. Do you think I can get the deposit back ? Thanks, - Ashok |

sorry, but the chance to get your deposit back is next to none. If you post your question here before, I can hook you up with a $500 over invoice price, no Maco or extra fees. I know a SA there and he can do 500 over invoice all day, the dealer is about 225 miles south 101 from SJ, in santa maria.

I have made a "stop payment" on the check. I don't want to go back to this dealer. Is it okay to stop a check payment ?
Thanks, - Ashok |

Ashok:
Stop payments are bad because 1) The check bounces and the dealer will have to pay some money to his bank. 2) Your bank will charge you a fee. The honorable thing is to tell the dealer that you have changed your mind and would like your deposit back. In general ALWAYS pay with a credit card unless goods are being exchanged (final pickup). And you can easily do $500-$1000 over invoice.

I just didn't want to meet the dealer and I stopped the payment today morning. I will call them and let them know as well.
This guy was giving it to me for invoice + 1000 and I found another dealer who is giving it to me for invoice. - Ashok |

Make sure you give them a courtesy call and tell them not to deposit the check and want to cancel your order. You can either go to Stevens Creek or Peterpan BMW and get a $500over invoice deal all day long.

Common decency dictates that at the very least, you let you dealership know that you are no longer interested in the car and that you would like your deposit back. I'd like to think that my fellow BMW drivers are responsible people and have class. Apparently that isn't always the case.

First thing ... have your requirement defined. Get Invoice, MSRP and call the dealers in the area. Weight dealership price with distance you live and get a car.
Ask here everyone will help you. I saved thousands of $$ by going for ED ( Just because of gr8 people on this forum) Good Luck !! |
