Error code P1622

I received the error code P1622 ('99 328i) from the diagnostic tool that Advance Auto Parts let me use. The printout states: Manufacturer Contrl.
Auxiliary Inputs
Auxiliary Outputs

I found a website that defines DTC codes and it states P1622 is MAP Cooling Control Circuit Electrical. Does anyone know what this refers to?

(BTW I did a search for this topic and found that the same question was posed back in Jan. 2005 and there were no responses. I am hoping someone might have encountered the same problem since then and knows what it is)

I normally just reboot my car

Might want to check in the DIY area of bimmerfest?

I'm getting that same code along with P1392 and P1529. Did you ever get your problem solved?

That MAP cooling fault code would be caused by a faulty thermostat. You will need to replace the thermostat.

At 20:08 in this video he says that a faulty MAP can throw up O2 sensor codes too (P1188) sometimes, any experience or truth to that?
My thermostat was replaced only 15K miles ago so i just want to be as sure as possible before i throw money at it for another thermostat.

P1622 More Than Meets the Eye?

I have this P1622 code also. From everything I've read, people say "replace the thermostat and housing". But it is something more than that? I have a 2000 528i and I just had the engine swapped with one that only has 90k on it. As I live in California, I have to get it smoged and I can't even get it smoged without 8 things (procedures) being ready. I get through 7 of the 8 readiness completed but the last one is having to do with the catalyst. It won't set when there's a trouble code like the P1622.

So I have to clear this code and go through the whole "readiness completed" drive cycle all over again, this is a pain and time consuming. I took the car back to the guy who did the engine swap and he replaced the thermostat and housing. Cleared the code and off I go illegally down the road trying to get all 8 readiness issues good through the drive cycle. Albeit that I'm a newbie here, I know exactly how to do the drive cycles. The catalyst has to be made ready by driving for 15 minutes continually between speeds of 40-60 miles an hour. What a pain. Or I could just drive 200 plus miles.

Regardless, unless this P1622 error code is cleared and never to return, then MAYBE all readiness will be completed and then I can pass smog. Mind you, there's no warning lights, temp gauge is where it should be etc. Just had the t-stat replaced yesterday, if I get this code again (1622) any ideas of what it could be or what I can do. All of you who live in any other state but CA don't realize how lucky you have it. There has to be an "act of god" to get your cars to pass smog, and for what? The air still Any ideas (besides moving to another state)?
