Is that a button on top of the shifter? Might be for Sport Mode. What do you guys think?

I think it looks great. Idrive is a great addition, especially w/voice command capability. I don't have a problem w/using it un my 7, and I think people just need to take a little time to learn how to use all the features. I hope Logic 7 is also available too.

what! No room for a 3-pedal!!!
A 3-pedal (sport, not stump puller) with the 3.5 twin-turbo, you will have the entire northern US waiting for one of these. How sweet that would be.... Dash looks interesting, the double dash looks a little quirky, but not in a bad way. Shifter looks like a cell-phone. That is the one bad part, keep a step shifter, the E65esque steering wheel buttons are **** compared to the actual action. |

My thought, E70 X5 interior were good! I don't like shift knob! It's weird looking. Overall, X5 were very good.

Do you guys think the 6 cylinder version of the X5 will get the 260 hp;225 lb - ft torque?

I really want to know how the 3rd row of seats is going to look like. Anyone seen it?

To be honest, this is exactly what I want to see from the new X5. However, I don't want to see the X5 to become something like a very large SUV like the Merc GL or Audi Q7. They are just too huge in size, imo. Sizewise, I think the Volvo XC90 is very good and I hope the X5 will not be a lot larger than that.

Hmm.. does anyone know if the 3rd row of seats are a viable option or an afterthought like the E series MBZ wagons? I'll totally hold out for this puppy if the 3rd row is actually functional for kids (as opposed to a death trap in the crumple zone).

My "perfect" SAV would have the XC90's room, with the X5's engines, driving dynamics, interior quality and build quality. (The XC90 had some really great innovative ideas, but was let down by inferior execution. There was ALWAYS something going wrong with it). From what I've seen so far, it looks like the new X5 was designed to my specs!

Quack - thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be calling the Audi dealer and telling them to wait for me until I've taken out the E70.

Thanks for the stroke, but calling my 411 on the E70 "info" may be a bit generous. "Best guess from early information gleaned from the rumormill" is closer to the mark, though "wishful thinking" might also be accurate!
