Very valid point holmesmd. And for this reason I haven't gotten it done yet.
I've heard that Dinan's product doesn't void the warranty. If this is the case
(and I haven't researched it yet) then I'll certainly wait for them.

As a side, there's really no place other than a track where we should be
driving this beast at anything near the limiter. If I had the ECU remap
I doubt I'd be visiting anything near those speeds. But I guess is for the
piece of mind of knowing that the car has it in her...call me crazy.

Congrats on the amazing auto

I was fortunate enough to borrow one from BMW GmbH during the Euro-Delivery of my 530i6.

At WOT on the Autobahn 270 kph indicated (155 mph as the BMW speedos are optimistic) the car was easily able to be handled with ONE hand on the wheel. BUT at that speed it does drink some gas, we filled the tank twice that day to the tune of $141 (US dollars) for Shell 100 octane.

But enjoy your ride, I would remove the first speed limiter and enjoy it

Yours truly at Dingolfing Werk in an M6 (birthplace of 5, 6, 7, and their M variants)

and hammer down between Munich and Dingolfing

If I had the means and the wherewithal An M5 would be in my garage (since I have two kinder in car seats). Again - congrats!

Yeah Marshall,
All of Dinan's stuff is compliant with BMW Manufacturerer's Warranty. It's a huge selling point and a piece of security that is diffucult to put an accurate price tag on. These other guys can mod away if they want, it's their money
