Wow. That looks like a long read. I'm up for the challenge though.

I skim those articles, mostly press talk. But, the pics are always the highlight!

How very interesting!!! They claimed a reinforced underfloor, that's very good news!

Maybe no more cases of subfloor failure on the E9x cars.

(Not that my E36 or E46 failed, but you cannot help but keep the thought at the back of you mind...)

"Featuring a highly effective hydraulic control unit, a new torque converter and extremely efficient control software, the newly developed six-speed automatic transmission ensures particularly fast and dynamic acceleration at virtually all speeds, shifting gears with a response time of only 100 milliseconds, regardless of whether the transmission has to shift down one or several gears in the process."

isn't that only 20 more than the SMG II?

"The new torque converter is locked up immediately after the car has set off, six-speed automatic transmission thus providing a direct connection to the engine and giving the driver the same impression as with a manual gearbox ensuring a direct flow of power."

so does this mean you will have all 300 horses even with the auto?

"One of the particular qualities of the new six-speed automatic transmission is its ability to shift down up to four gears without the slightest loss of time. "

that's pretty cool

Holy wheel gap. I don't think those shots have the SP. Nothing like the 335 SP in my sig.

Wheel gap looks fine to me. Certainly no different from the picture in your sig. I'm not really a fan of the slammed look, I don't like cars that look like their tires will hit the wheel wells on the slightest bump.

In the picture attached below, I think the wheel gap is perfect. Note how the gap is equal along the entire upper circumference of the wheel. It looks like the wheel just fits in the fender perfectly. If you lowered the car any further, it would look out of whack.

The car is beautiful. Better even than the E46 coupe, which looks a little portly from some angles. Hopefully, this is a sign that BMW's styling department is back on track, and not a fluke. I'm eager to see what the next-gen 7 looks like.

Don't get me wrong ... I hate the slammed look, too. Some of the pictures looked like they had a lot of gap, like this one:

But it might be just the pic. The one you posted is acceptable.

The SP wheels are the five-spoke 18s in my sig ... not the same as these photos. I wonder if that's why the difference? Even though all coupes have the sports suspension...

Also, you know what annoys me? That line at the bottom by the rear wheel on a side profile. It doesn't align with the line at the bottom of the door, it's slightly higher.

I think the fender gaps look good in all the shots I've seen. I'm really liking the coupe... though I'd still like to see shots of the M Technik package. With the new Z4 Coupe, and the e92, I'm smitten by BMW's latest coupes! How is a man to chose?

I want to know the pricing and availability of the M-Tech package ... I know I will miss my M-Tech E46 bumper.

Talking great article

what a great in depth article. the only thing I wish it would focus more on is the differences between the coupe and the sedan. having already purchased a sedan, I'm curious more as to what the benefits of the coupe are.

There should be a law against posting pics of a Lemon interior. It's just not fair...

None of the pics show lemon interior. The pics where the light color is inset into black doors is Jade Grey. Another nice light color not available in the US. The pics where the whole interior is light are of creme beige. I guess if you like light interiors this is your best bet in the states. I have ordered mine with Jade Grey as for some reason up in Canada we get lemon on e90 and Jade grey on e92!!

Germancarfans.com is not US-centric.

I don't think the press release was specific to the US market. I think it was issued by AG. Note the speedo.

Yeah I realize its nothing to do with the US but Lemon isn't availble for the e92 in any country. I revised my earlier post with what I believe these colors to really be

Edit: its amazing how different the creme beige looks in real life photos vs the earlier bmw touched up photos that are also shown. Never trust BMW photos!!

"White" angel eye halos...then back to yellow

Anyone else notice that in the first batch of pictures posted above, all the way on the top right (the close-up of the angel eye halo) it appears a nice crisp LED white light, then all the others show the darn yellowish color!? Argh, I got excited there for a second.

I still don't understand why they don't put the same handle that's on the passenger door on the driver's door also!??!

Black Anyone?

I would really like to see pictures of the 2007 335 or 328 in Black. Does anyone have these photos?
