12V switched lead in the console?

I just got my DICE iPod integration kit with a DSP module for my X3 and want to install all of this in the center console where my CD Changer used to reside. The DSP converter requires me to tap into a 12V switched power source in order to make all of this work.

Does anyone know which wires going through the console area could provide the power here? I am trying to avoid running the power lead off to some far off location and would prefer to tap something already in the center console if at all possible.

TIA

I am going to answer my own query here - there is a purple and white striped lead in the bundle of wiring that goes up into the top compartment of the console lid that is 12V switched.

I have tapped into it and am up and running with the DICE iPod interface.

What is the best way to tap into the 12V? I found it but I am scared. Where is the best place to ground it?

Ground can go to any Chassis Ground, or use a solid brown wire on the harness. Verify all connections with a multimeter or light tester before proceeding.

Thanks Tom

I tapped in using those plastic clips.

Now my radio only shows CD- instead of CD-1 and it won't go into INIT. I feel like I am so close yet so far.
