Possibly non-vanos.

What are the last 7 digits of your VIN?

(pre-September '92 models were non-vanos, post-September '92 models had vanos.)

The part the that wrench is grabbing is the vanos solenoid. If you have that, you've got vanos.

Ed, post-September E36s are next years model. In fact, cars built DURING September are next years model. My '93 (with VANOS) was built September of '92, and it was sold as a '93... Gina's '95 318 was built in September of '94.
