Should I get a 335i instead of a M3 02 cabrio instead
wow! I just got back from vacationing and the forum notified me via email that the 335i USA prices are now available.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...6&d=1152216122 335i at 300HP and 300tque, I having a second look for an ED configured with MT, ZSP, heat seat, comfort package, metalic paint, MTranny would be about the same price to a very clean 02 M3 cabrio steel grey/blk int with 21k miles. Im due to finalize at deal this week, Should I reconsider an 335i instead? and forget the M badge

I'd get the 335i - lease it and trade it in down the road for the E93. I'm very nervous about this car because it is going to be able to give my '03 M3 a run for its money big time. M3s Not king of the road anymore. :-(

lease a 2002 bmw thats 4 years old? damn.... any idea will the new e92 be around for a cab? hard top fold in or soft top? but get the m3 vert. I love this car. I feel sorry for guys who went with the 330 (my father) and those suckers who have a roof on their car as well |

the seller of the 02 M3 Im about to get made this comments on my thoughts about an 335i instead, which I though was very amusing.
quote: "a 335 is not going to be an M3, and don't be fooled by 300hp. The car will be soft and tuned for women, just like the 330ci was. Believe me, you will NOT be happy with that car." thats a true M3 guy talking Quote:

In case you haven't seen it, although it's all over the net...
Makes me think the new M3 is going to be something else...

Otherwise, it doesn't make much sense. I don't know how the 335 coupe with a sport package suspension can be *that* much softer and blander than a cabrio. Probably a whole lot more fun too. Of course, it won't be an M and everything that the brand carries-- chachet, prestige, yada, yada... But to me, depending on your preferences, it's a no-brainer.

Im holding any 335i comments, if I can help it, until I get to test drive one of these.
Im sure 335i will earn a spot in the BMW family lineup, but lets not expect to have it replace the M spot at the family dinning table.

Nobody thinks the 335 replaces the upcoming new M3
I does seem to be the equivalent of the E46 M3. When you can get new for the same $$.... why buy a used equivalent. |

I think the 335i will be a nice car, but I would not want to own one the first year out.

The thing that is interesting on the 335 is the potential of any turbo’d engine for modification. The new M3 with the V8 will I’m sure be hugely fast but with some mods to a 335 and it could be a good race. Just look what they can do with Turbo 4’s Evo (especially a UK FQ Evo) and STI anyone…

I went the last week without even putting the top up. It is garaged at home, I have cover parking at work, I work out at nite and this means no sun to kill the leather so I just leave the top down. Lets just say my car gets very dusty inside though. When the top is up, chics never seem to check you out. |

Just kidding. I work during the day. Have covered parking and a garage at home so it's never really an issue.

If you like low end torque get the 335i. The E46 M3 feels underpowered below 3K rpms. 3K - 5K it gets interesting but won't blow you away. 5K - 8K it feels like a speed demon. If you don't like that kind of driving style then get the 335.

Own a M and then you will see what us ///M owners feel. the 335i will be made to sell to everyone - the high school girl - to the rice grade to german engineering. It will not be a track ready vehicle like them and the performance in turbo versus - NA will be a big difference. Remember the M cars are a specific and not your run of the mill 335i will be made in the 100k 's of them.
