Yeah, same with everybody else that drives the car. It grabs so hard on shifts, though. I love it.

Lol I love it when unaware people stall my car. The kids at the tire shops and the smog guys ALWAYS stall.

Whenever I let people drive people my car(rare) there is usually a stall within 2 minutes and every gear change is far from smooth.

Last guy I let drive it just left it in 5th the enitre time. Speed was around 40-55 and we got down to like 1400 RPMS. I thought it was funny.

Unless I'm trying to accelerate, I'll keep mine in 5th even when I'm going 30mph. Then again, my OBC has been displaying a combined average of 25mpg... So yeah, grampa pants over here...

But I show 20mpg for all city driving.

I cruise around town in 3rd and 4th depending on my speed. I can't deal with the ear popping drone every time I look at the throttle below 2k rpms. I've heard just being in a higher gear doesn't necessarily save fuel though. If you're off the throttle it should be consuming a minimal amount of fuel, and if you're at 2300rpms in 4th as opposed to 1800 in 5th or whatever, it takes less throttle to adjust your speed in the lower gear.

Says the guy that gets like 18mpg.

It takes more throttle in lower gear, but it's spinning at a lower speed, so there's less injection bursts. It basically evens out, but the only factor is that 4th will have more loss due to friction because it's spinning faster. This should cause slightly less MPG. At least that's the way I understand it. I'm just speculating.

Me too

1st gear: 3400rpm
2nd: 3350
3rd: 3500 (then the tach turns orange )
4th: 3200

And then...

Overdrive
(imagine in a very cool voice with the 'rive' part of drive stretched out)

Get out of here with that. I averaged 28 mpg to bimmerfest and back. Granted I averaged about 80-90 the whole way I still don't get how you can get 30.

I could probably get 37 if I was going downhill in neutral and then reset the OBC.

I have bigger injectors so the OBC is wacky

I actually get 25 or so mixed.
