Very sad day today. My lovely BMW has gone to the great breakers in the sky after being hit by a Transit that came through a red light and hit us. We've been together for 8 years. In the end itwas too uneconomical to repair. I'm not leaving the forum though because I have bought a 523i SE which will do me until I find another E36.

condolences man. Losing a beloved car is a sad moment for any gear head. But at least you have a 5'er to drive to fill the void.

I know the feeling. A few years ago my dad crashed the 328i while driving to work. I felt like crap. He bought the car new when I was like 1, knew the car my entire life. Those memories, ahh the memories in that car. Luckily, it wasn't that bad and he got it fixed.

Looks good! Makes me miss my vert.

It's perfect vert weather here right now. Low 80's during the day, high 60's at night. Didn't have a tripod with me so I couldn't do anything with longer exposures to get better sharpness.

Sorry to hear this. You had a great looking E36 on your hands. Glad to hear that you're looking to get back into another E36, though. They really are one of the best drivers cars out there, and have aged quite well if you ask me.

I don't know, but it would probably be fairly easy. We'd have to get a bunch of us to submit high quality photos of our cars, to be voted on by the forum to select the final 12, then have someone do the layout & design, then find an online printing company to turn them into a reality, and then ship them to everyone. We'd also have to get enough people committed to buy one to make it economically feasible, but if it looked good, I don't think that would be terribly difficult to achieve. I'll look into it a little further.

Your E36 looks excellent!

Costco has nice calendars that you can make with your own pictures online....

My very cursory search online has shown that a printing company which I use for work would charge about $20 per calendar, with a minimum purchase of 25 ($500). This is at 8.5x11" full gloss color pages. I can probably find a better deal. If we get serious about it, perhaps we can create a Kickstarter for it where we all contribute money and set a deadline. The more people contribute, the cheaper per unit they become.

AS far as I know, the other guy is getting sponsors together. $$$ in trade for their logo/contact info.. If we can get 12 good quality photos of some of our rides, its definitely within the realm of possibility..

I'd spend that much. Lets do it.
