Not a full respray. Freshening up the skirts, space under the trunk, bumpers and right quarter panel. The previous owner had the quarter repaired "ok". Just getting it straight. Its at Zooks right now.

close up the aperture, makes sure a sharper photo at the same time it limits the light. also ISO settings matter, the higher the number the more sensitivity to light.

Right, I try to mess with the ISO, but I'm having trouble deciding what is the best for shooting in those lighting conditions...

I really need to just take some more pics and mess with the settings until I'm more comfortable with them I think.

Alan, what kind of camera do you have, and what modes are you shooting in mostly?

Also, you want to keep your ISO as low as you possibly can while still being able to achieve your desired shutter speed and aperture. The higher the ISO, the crappier the photo quality. On my APS-C sensor DSLR, I try to keep my ISO at below 400, and on my CCD sensor P&S I try to keep the ISO below 200.

Nikon D5100 I shoot in manual mode. I'm really trying to learn without letting the camera do the work for me....

Good choice regarding shooting in manual. It will indeed help you learn how things work by doing it that way. Generally speaking, when shooting in manual, always make sure that you're not over or under-exposed. Your sliding exposure meter will tell you where you're at depending on where the camera is pointed (should always be at 0). If you want to cheat a little bit with trying to get better exposure between highs & lows, you could try turning on Active D-Lighting.

Also, what processing software are you using? I shoot exclusively in RAW and process in Lightroom, which allows me to adjust exposure levels individually. I feel that if you own a DSLR (or any halfway decent camera, really), you 100% have to also own Lightroom. Otherwise, you have no decent way to process your photos.

Yeah, RAW files have more image data in them, so you have more flexibility when it comes to balancing exposure during post processing.

YAY just figured out the manual focus, iso settings and the aperture/ shutter speed on my camera.
