I think they're played out. They were interesting maybe 5-10 years ago, but now they're just gimmicky.

this is how I feel about them. I took a gamble when I bought a set of DEPOs only to have 2 out of 4 of them work, and they weren't both on the same beam.

IMO Angel eyes belong on BMWs that were equipped with them, and not on ones that were designed without them. The E36 has a very edgy, sleek, angled body and the roundness of the angel eyes don't flow well on it like they do on the later, rounder cars.

Frenched high beams and city driving lights are very easy to pull off though.

well part of the problem is you bought DEPO lights. DJ auto,ZKW these are better quality and unlike DEPO the other two will sell you replacement lenses if they brake.

Dj auto and depo are basically the same quality. Zkw is better than both.

yup and ZKWs cost 6 times as much. IMO the DJs are a lot better and DEPOs, the corner marker rails are much more robust on the DJs and they have nicer lenses.

welp, there goes my theory lol. my DEPOs both snapped on me the first time i tried installing them, and then the angel eye thing. But I think any time that you pay what you do for either of these set ups you're going to get pretty large fluctuations in quality. I mean, look at what OEM prices for HIDs and ballasts are, and projector housings. I don't even know how DEPO or DJ Auto makes money off of these.

Yeah, that's a pretty aggressive wheel size / offset. Oh well, better to sit high on 245s than low on 205s.

This one's for you Ju:

I've always loved the saying that the French have yellow lights in their cars so they can be hated at night too.

I thought that was the night-time version of a white surrender flag.

i don't know the brand name, they were already installed so i never dicked around with them. they are H1 bulbs though. if that helps. If I had to guess they're just some type of blue lensed H1 high beam.
