I didn't give the camera enough time to focus on this picture.

These pictures are fine though.

I was thinking of taking off the bumpers and having them painted red along with the side skirts but I would have to repaint the whole car since the paint is faded.

No, faded paint issue can be fixed to some extent by very good polish and wax. Its also about 10 times cheaper I would imagine so give that a go. It might really do the trick. Also do paint the bumbers - it looks horrible in primer! then you'll have a winner on your hands, the wheels are terrific.

Then we'll have something like this going on?

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1032/...b05cdf1ccc.jpg

http://www.designercars.net/biler/BMW-318i-18101.jpg

I had some other ideas in mind for my car as well:

Angel Eyes
Clear or smoked Tail lights?
Clear Corner lights

Nice! Though getting the bumpers and the rocker panels mono'd would be better!

After umming and arrhing for quite I while, we pulled the trigger today for what I think is a pretty good deal.

1999 Titan Silver 318is SPORT, 94,000 kms, Sunroof, books, good service history, new tyres, 12 months registration.

It needs a repair to the drivers seat, Inspection 1 service is just about due (one green bar left on the dash), rear bar could do with a paint touch up.

We will put some M3 mirrors on her, my son wants E46 style 18" wheels, tinted windows and a good sound system. This is were I need your help.

I'm an old fart so personally I'd prefer to keep the originals but I understand that we were all 19 at some stage. Starting from scratch how much so he budget for to get a really good car stereo system.

We are talking head unit, amps, front and rear speakers, splits and the mandatory sub-woofer. Please offer suggestions in brands with all up costs plus recommendations on who can do quality installs. We live in the Hills district in North/West Sydney.

As always thanks in advance and I hope you like the car. Here are some pics that I took on the test drive.
Cheers,

Bob.

Wow, this is first time i see a car here that has same Mtech spec like my old E36, interior is exactly the same!

Sound system? Good one? 10000 dollars I guess will get you very decent one already.

1000 bucks for something barely OK.
you can spend a LOT on sound systems so as long as you guys know this, start by getting a decent head unit, upgrade front speakers and tweaters, next the back ones and the sub, plus couple of amp units. Go with known brands if you don't want to get into 10000 territory, Alpine makes good ones so can start there but you have to research this much more to get a truly good system as this is an art on its own... You strip out doors and inuslate all panels with sound deadening material as well.

Wheels - i dont know what prices you go, i gues 800 bucks for a set of used rims with new tyres like Falken 452s.
