Engine Swap

I have a partner that has a 1993 325i and is having it replaced with a 94 325i engine. ut Is there a way to make sure that the 94 is a 325 and not a smaller engine by looking at it? Ie: Cords, bolts, etc. Thanks!!!

if it is out of a 325i you shouldnt have to worry about it. just look at the two engines if you are in doubt

I kinda figured that, but his engine blew. So it is in a metal bin and that's why we can't compare the two. Just wondering if the heads or something else visible that I can look at to make sure it is a 325i. Thanks!!

I think there is a code build into the engine # thats says if its a 323 or 325, but what these
ziffers are I am not sure, - tut mir leid.

Thanks! I'll have to look into that and see if that's something that I can pull up on the OBC.
