Oh god, that's awful.

I see you're a believer that it's better to look fast than actually be fast?

For the cost of that hood, you could upgrade your 318 to at least a 325 if not late E36 328.

Lightbulb ???

okay so your saying for the price of a 300 dollar hood I could upgrade my 4cyl. engine to a 6 cyl? please enlighten me on how that would be possible cus last time I checked the engine alone is almost a grand. And no I am not into just looking fast and yes I have thoght about getting a diff. motor and tranny dropped into my car I am at the moment trying to keep the damn thing running so I am looking for cheaper upgrades. I mean I only payed 500 for the car to begin with so ofcourse there will be problem but it takes time and money to fix them.

Is a hood only $300? I assumed that after paint, you'd be looking at a couple grand.

Hey, it's your car. Enjoy.

i have found plenty of 2.5 and 2.8 engines with tranny's for 400 in good running condition. Look around on ebay and www.car-parts.com

well I do the painting myself and it would be prolly 350 to 400 to get it and paint it. Well now that I have been informed of the cheaper places to find the engine and tranny the issue of getting it dropped into the car for a decent price would still be pricey cus I hate to say it but I have yet to master all engine components for BMW since I grew up on American Muscle it is like a new world lol. But I am almost positive that if I take out the old engine then I could prolly put it in myself.

Looks to me like it's custom made. Hate to think what it might cost. I have never seen a hood like this for sale in any car mag or website. Agree with other comments that there are better ways to spend your money. I must say that the hood does look pretty good, but I don't think it would help re-sale either. I mean, if someone has mucked around with that part of the car so much, what have they done to the rest of it? Just my opinion anyway, but if you do get the work done it would be interesting to see what it cost. Ask your local repair shop what they would charge to incorporate an e46 grill and make it one piece, then grab a seat before they tell you the price! LOL
