2006 325I--how to reset the "low tiire pressure" warning??

Hello! I had my first flat (darn screws!!) and got my "run flats" changed at Mr Tire. The nearest BMW dealer is quite far.....they changed the tire--but my "warning sensor" is still telling me my tire is flat. I know how to re-set the sensor in our 1995 (for other reason such as oil change)..

Anybody know if you can "do it yourself" on the 2006?

Thanks for your help!

Miss....

Got it--guess it helps to look in the manual. Just didnt think it was that easy since with our 1995 we needed to "make" this device out of paper clips and tap into certain numbered slots.

Thanks.....glad they made it easy! Those darn run flats--- $350 each? DARN!

There are instructions in the owner's manual. You need to use the end of the directional signal lever to control the computer to reset the Flat Tire Monitor. The important trick, which is not stated clearly, is that you must perform this process while the car is standing still. The computer will not present the flat tire monitor display if you are in motion. So, you must do the set up before you go driving away. Then it finishes the calibration job automatically. This calibration should be repeated any time you adjust the tire pressures.

Unhappy Lost my Manual

I have tried pressing the button on the end of the turn signal and the arrow pointing at the word Reset goes out. What am I supposed to do next? I have tried driving off but the warning just reappears.

You have to hold the button in for a few seconds.

Ever get this fixed? I'm taking my 335 into Merchants in a few days (damn sidewall bubbles!) and want to make sure the sensor doesn't stay on and annoy me.

You would just reset the tpm system.

yeah just curious as to if there is in fact an amount of time requird to depress the button. I've attempted a reset before and just pressed down momentarily and had the same issue, ie the lamp came back on immediately when I drove off.

Yeah just got it back over the weekend. Did the reset after driving away and the warning lamp is now yellow instead of red, ie its saying the sensor itself is malfunctioning. Probably gonna take it back up to Merchants to see if they simply forgot to recalibrate it or what.

Anybody run into this same issue before?

I'm actually having the same problem- the reset wont calibrate so I might be taking my car in as well.. Just wanted to add about the tires. I recently bought four new michelin primacy hp tires for only 140/each @ tirerack. worth checking them out.
