Unhappy 1998 318ti Auto Parking Sensors

I've recently purchased a 1998 318ti Compact Auto and it has the rear parking sensors in the bumper, the problem is when i'm reversing i hear no sound regardless of how close i get to another car (Haven't tried a wall).

I've checked the fuse box and there is an entry in the list on the inside of the lid that says "Parking Aid" with a fuse location, i've removed the fuse and checked it with a multimeter and the fuse is fine.

I've considered that the speaker may be damaged that is used to sound but have no idea where this would be located as this is my first BMW.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

hi mate... check the connection on the rear parking module its located in my boot rear right on my 2001 e46 coupe... as for ur model im not sure... if a sensor is open circuit on my car i get a continous beep to warn of a system fault... the only way i get no sound is if my connector is disconnected... might be the previous owner knew this and has disconnected it to hide a faut.. hope it helps!!
