No I don't have a phone. What type of phone works with it. I would like to get it up and running.

in all honesty, to get this to work your going to have to convert over to the bluetooth kit to support the newer digital phones being sold currently by carriers. you can buy bluetooth conversion kits for a 01 x5 4.4 from a number of sites online.

if you really want to try to get the oem phone kit to work you need a Motorola "timeport" compatible phone with the model of kit installed in your car. I think a 01 has a CPT-8000 which comes in either CDMA or GSM flavors. you will probaby have to buy one on ebay.

Thanks, that was some good advice. Do you know of any websites that offer the bluetooth kit.
