Window/Door Seal
Hi ...
I recently had the windows on my E46 325ci 2005 tinted but during the process, the fitment guys had to remove the rubber seal on the inside of the windows. They did this by un-clipping the door molding/panel at the top and thereafter removing the rubber seal which runs along the window on the inside. I feel that they have not replaced that rubber correctly. I cannot remember what it looked like before they removed it. It is now really bugging me that the rubber may not have been replaced correctly and that water may pour into the door through gaps that have been left. Is there anyone who has done this sort of procedure before and could provide any advice or a step by step procedure on correcting the problem, I woul really appreciate it. If you have pics that will be great. Many thanks click here for pics of what it looks like now: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=394668 |

Have someone spray water on the car with a hose while you`re sitting inside....you`ll notice right away if anything`s wrong.

Howdy ...
Thanks for the post. I tried a spray of water and thereafter checked inside but it does not seem to be getting into the cabin itself. My concern is the gap between the window and the rubber seal. The gap looks quite large and water does flow into it. To me it seems that water will collect within the door itself causing the the window mechanisms and the door itself to rust. Please see the attached pics. I have circled the points which concern me. Thanks Last edited by e46325ci2005; 08-22-2006 at 01:42 PM. |
