At launch, expect "standard" lease rates (currently 3.15 buy)

im still confused, lol, is that the lease money factor? seems ungodly high, when i have seen people quoting .002 for the 335i that are about to take delivery.

or is this equivalent to a money factor for financing like 2400*3.15?

It is the lease MF. This is the normal lease MF right now and is equivalent to 24x.00315 = 7.56%. Now I'm only paying a buy MF of .0001 ! ( yep, no mistake ) on my Z4 because BMW has a promotional rate of .0005 on the Z4 3.0si AND I put down 7 security deposits to reduce it .00049. But I let the dealer add .0002 so it came to .00021.
There is a lot of info on this in the ask-a-dealer section including the buy MFs for August. If you look you will see .00315 is the "high" money factor. It is very possible they will have a promo rate to move some new X5s.

Sorry, I'm used to our computer system that let's us drop the 0's.

Current "standard" buy rate is 0.00315 and can be marked up 0.001 points (up to 0.00415). Expect standard rate at initial launch, and it'll probably slowly drop to the 0.00250 range after a few months.

That's just my opinion, though, and isn't based on any known facts.

well if that is the case then i guess i wont be "wasting" that much money just to have the new model. with that money factor and assuming 62% resid over 3 years that puts my payment close to 1100 (right under 66 msrp), yuck, i would like to have one, but not that bad, lol.

Standard rate can be marked up .00125.

I agree with the rest...and I'd expect BMW to subsidize the 4.8 first.
