FS: 2004 E46 M3 Silver Gray Metallic/Black Nappa SMG M3 30K+ mi - Los Angeles

First FS post, so advice and suggestions for my listing are welcome.

2004 E46 M3 Coupe with 30,xxx miles on it.
VIN: WBSBL93444PN58281
Carfax URL: http://www.carfax.com/cfm/FSBO.cfm?r...FX000013235227
Silver Gray Metallic / Black Nappa Leather

Car is bone-stock with the following additions:
Park Distance Control (PDC)
Bi-Xenon headlights
SMG II

Other notables:
NO moonroof
Manual seats (NO power seats)
New full set of Toyo T1R's installed late August, 2006

Asking: $40,000

(Based off of the kbb.com quote of $41.5K in "Good" Condition)

Trying not to put any more unnecessary miles on the M3, but due to my daily driver dying this past weekend (9/2/2006), the mileage might increase at the time of sale (20 mi / day).

Mint condition. Non-smoker driven, always garaged, well cared for, never modified with after-market parts. I've only used Griot's Garage products on it. Always serviced at either South Bay BMW in Southern California, or EMW in Arcadia, CA for tire changes. Car was always based in Los Angeles, and served as a weekend car.

All dealer service and mid-service oil changes performed at South Bay BMW and according to schedule.

Fully covered by the BMW Maintenance Program for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The BMW Maintenance Program covers all factory-recommended maintenance and items that need replacement due to normal wear and tear. Your maintenance costs:
Scheduled Inspections: $0
Brake Pads: $0
Brake Rotors: $0
Engine Belts: $0
Oil Changes: $0
Wiper Blade Inserts: $0
Inspections: $0
Fluid Services: $0

*The BMW Maintenance Program covers all factory-recommended maintenance on all model year 2004 vehicles and newer vehicles, as determined by the Service Level Indicator, for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Exclusions from coverage: gasoline, gasoline additives, windshield washer additives, tires, wheels, wheel alignment, tire balancing and rotation. All work must be performed by an authorized BMW center. See the Service and Warranty Information booklet for more details and exclusions.

I'm currently working on pictures, as I just got the car back from South Bay BMW for a final spot check before I let it go to a new owner. You may PM me for pictures, in the meantime.

Please contact me at 2004m3forsale@gmail.com if interested.

Thanks for being patient with the pictures, which I finally got a chance to take today.

I'm definitely open to hearing your offers, for those that are seriously interested. Email is best; PM is fine as well.

Car does actually need to be sold ASAP, or else sale will be pulled. So, be a "men"! Make me a reasonable offer!

Thanks for the offer, and the props! I wish I could do a trade right now, but I'm only entertaining cash offers, unfortunately. Believe me, if I was up for a trade, my first pick would actually be for a very clean '00-'03 E39!

Also, I had an interesting phone call this morning which significantly relaxes any time constraints to complete the sale.

Thanks for the prop!

Here's some more reasons for buying a latter-year model E46 M3:

ASKING PRICE LOWERED: $38,500

I've been noticing more "feeler" ads and postings these days.

Be assured that I DO intend to sell this car. I will absolutely not pull this offer out due to a change of heart. This is a purely a financial decision, not an emotional one (and going broke isn't the reason-- far from it). If this wasn't the case, I would unquestionably keep the car.

With that being said, I entertain all serious offers; no low-ball or "feeler" / half-hearted offers, because I'm 100% committed to a sale very soon.

But, I'm not sure why there isn't more interest in this car.

If it helps to show that I'm serious, I've lowered my asking price.

I'll give your ad a bump and explaination for the low interest. I say the same thing with my car being for sale now (im getting very low interest too on here). I see the hits on my thread but no one has posted any kind of interest, and I have lowered my price as low as I can allow. I have resorted to driving it around with for sale signs in the window and I get stopped all the time now.

As far as your car goes, YOU HAVE NO IDEA how many bimmer owners or forum members would die to have an E46M3 like yours(myself included)!!! But the fact of the matter is, many are not financially prepared to afford such a car, SIMPLE AS THAT. Yeah you will have tons of on lookers lusting after it, but they themselves know the reality of their situation which prevents them from mustering up the funds for ownership.

I'll tell you my own situation: I have been on the hunt for an E46M3 for several months now. But looking a the prices of the M3's I see for sale, for me to own one I have to make some serious sacrificing to be able to pull the purchase off. Therefore, my 99 M3 is for sale right now, and soon after thats gone, i will be selling my 5 series. So im giving up 2 cars that I still love in order to get one car that I am dieing to own. Why am I selling both of them, because I need that money to be able to put a decent down payment on the price of an E46M3 such as yours costing $38k some even $10-$20K higher for newer models (04-05's). im trying my best to avoid having a car loan but the one's I see that I really like, I dont think its gonna happen. You think the car market is slow and full of feelers out there you should ask what some of these LUCKY people out there that are trying to sell a 2005 M5 or a new M6 and see how quick they get a $90k car sold. SOME OF US JUST AINT GOT IT LIKE THAT

Talking

KCLARK, your enthusiasm made me chuckle. Wow, I didn't know my last post would elicit such strong reaction! But, I do definitely understand the circumstances you've listed that might be why I perceive my M3 isn't selling as fast as, say, a reliable mint condition slightly used Honda Accord would manage.

You're absolutely right-- although I wouldn't call this M3 an exclusive car, it's "near-exclusive". Perhaps my "slow" sale serves as a reinforced testament to all current and previous E46 M3's out there.

And I'm (partially) selling the car for the same reasons you've listed. Sure, I can afford it and still eat out. But, I believe there are other interests brewing right now that I could capitalize on which may result me in easily affording a car like this in the future and all its potential 5-year gremlins, etc, etc, without even flinching.

Give a little, gain a lot (or hopefully so, at least).

Surprisingly, as if my last message was a good dare, someone has actually stepped up to the plate-- with a seriously good offer and backing. To re-assure him, I end this posting by saying:

SALE PENDING.

Wish us luck, and good luck to you!
