Smile Official Fun Drives Thread in New England

I'll start off, here.

Route 16/27 in Maine. Hours of twisties, 55MPH limit and very few cops who generally use X-band (except for in towns)

Route from I-95 (Augusta) to Canada (Coburn Gore) Past Sugarloaf/USA. Better outside of winter, though.

Happy Roadtrips, and post your favorite "fun drive" route here!

Classic VT

Great idea! here's a classic VT loop that I have enjoyed on 2&4 wheels alike:

VT 100N - in Ludlow,up through Granville Gulf to VT 17W
VT 17W through Appalachian Gap (Mad River Glen Ski Area) to VT 116N
VT 116N through Starksboro to Hinesburg
In center of Hinesburg Take left at Sign for Charlotte (Hinesburg Rd)
Follow signs for Charlotte, cross VT 7
Follow signs to Ferry Dock
Ferry currently runs on the hr and half hour (check schedule before you go) $8.50/car
Enjoy Ferry ride across Lake Chamlpain soaking up views of the lake and the Adirondacks(~20 mins)
You are now in Essex, NY
Follow signs for NY 22S
Depending on how much time you have you can follow NY 22 S until you see signs for "Bridge to VT" and take the bridge back over to VT 125 through Middlebury, Ripton, back to VT 100 in Hancock
or if you have more time:
Stay on NY 22/9N S to Ticonderoga, then follow NY 9N S along the west coast of Lake George to NY 149
Take NY 149 to Granville NY (near VT border) to VT 30
VT 30 to Manchester, VT and get VT 11
VT 11 back to VT 100

At the end of this, you have spent a glorious day with your bimmer in its element, burned a bunch of rubber and fossil fuel, and seen some of the most beautiful countryside in the eastern USA

Enjoy!

Any route through Rt17 (App Gap) is the BEST! Just make sure you've got good tires and your steering intact, because those haipins will make you twist that wheel as never before.
