Unhappy September 2006 X3 Series Sales Report

September sales of the BMW X3 and X5 Series totaled 4,537 units, down 31.5% from the 6,623 sold last September. YTD sales of the X Series were also down 12.3% when compared to the first 9 months of 2005.

For those of you who are interested Mercedes-Benz sold 5,873 trucks this month thanks to the addition of the R Class last September and the GL Class this April. For the first 9 months of 2006 sales of MB trucks are up 91.0% when compared to the same period of 2005. Of the 35,413 MB trucks sold thru the first 9 months of 2006, over half (51.6%)were the new R Class and GL Class.

Please note that I report only United States sales data.

So, poor sales should mean good lease rates? or are they going to make 2007 X3 lease rates high until they get rid of 2006s?

I don't get it. Maybe its just the new ones that are supposedly having a hard sell (I doubt it in my area). My dealer is running out of stock on CPO X3s........like literally they have 3 or 4 in stock.

Fred, according to your attachment, sales of the X3 and X5 combined for Sept 06 totaled 5,064 compared to 6,443 for Sept 05. That's a decrease of 21%.

Sales of the X3 were actually up to 2,823 in Sept 06 from 2,000 in Sept 05.
