is it just me or do the bolsters on the seat (not the back, but actual seat) look a little not supportive? the e46 SP seats seemingly have bigger bolsters. i noticed this when i was looking at the z4 at a local dealer and these pics. granted i've not driven it, so i cant speak if they are lacking or not... i forget how the seats were in the only z3s i drove... thoughts...

It looks a little better in a dark color because the flame surface crap doesn't stick out as much. It just looks like a bathtub instead. The interior is very comfortable - I sat in it at last auto show and there was room to spare.

A car like the Z4 would be a b*tch to get into with big bolsters...

btw, the SP seats are not nearly as supportive as they look

"Check it out"???

Jon, I'd be MORE than happy to check it out... as long as you don't make me return it...

It's lines have some *little* quirks but I have nothing but liked the Z4 from day one.

Saw one in the flesh a week ago... headed down the street at about 30mph. I got a good look. I *really* appreciated it's lines in motion.

Now, the 7? I still don't know.

BTW, Happy Half-Chanukah...

yeah, i guess i didnt think about the ease of entry/exit in the roadster... ha. i am abivalent toward the SP seats, they are nice, but it's been a LONG time since i've been in non SP seats to compare, but my point was more toward a lack of visible bolsters rather than actual support....

One of the common criticisms of the Z4 is its lack of side support

The new C&D had a nice review of the car this moth. 0-60 in 5.4 seconds, 0.91 g on the skidpad.

They complained about ride harshnss and noise. The car has engine noise piped into the compartment!

The "piped in noise" is GREAT! I drove both Z4 versions and have a "noisey" 325i and a "descent" 330CiC.

Agreed!

Umm, any chance you can move that Zit car so we can get a clearer shot of that 5er taken from that same location?
