warranty on 745li 2003

Dose anyone know if the 50k and the 100k warranty are transferable to the next person who buys a bmw?

I had a non-bmw dealer trying to sell me a 2003 bmw will no 100k warranty. When I asked himm about one he said no one can have this warranty unless BMW sells it to you and its not transferable. I also saw many other non-bmw dealers stating they were selling bmw's with 100k warranty, so whats up?

Yes they are the ownership information needs to be updated with BMW and then you are all set. Sit down with a service advisor at your local BMW dealership and you cna get everything taken care of. Get the service package also it is well worth the money.

The factory warranty stays with the car, no matter how many times it changes owner. HOwever, an aftermarket warranty could have limitations. Also, BMW extended the factory warranty of all 2002-2003 E65/E66 to 6 years/100K. You can call BMW, give them the last 7 digits of the VIN # and they will tell you exactly when it expires. The factory maintenance svc contract is also transferable and can be extended for additional $$ as long as it is still current when you buy the car.

Hi there, I currently have a 99 740 and I am looking at a 2002-2003 745 right now. I need to buy a car pretty quick, but I am pretty confused about the warranty. So, is this warranty for 6 years/100k on all cars? Also, is it whichever is first? Or how does that work?

From what I have read only the 2002/2003 were given the extended warranty up to 6yr/100k which ever comes first. You just need to update the ownership at a bmw dealership's service advisor. I hope that answered your question. I am looking for a E65/66 right now also.

We bought our 2003 from a non-BMW dealership, and they only knew about the standard BMW warranty - no idea about the 2002/2003 extension. The service history (and a phone call to BMWNA) turned up the fact that ours had maintenance to 100k. Had the dealer researched the vehicle's warranty, I suspect they would have asked for a higher price...

Okay, guys thanks for the responses. I think I found my new BMW! It is a 2002 745li. So now, more questions. Does anyone know who or where is the most resonable place to get an extended warranty? I thought I saw a post somewhere the other day on here about a warranty company out of california. Anyway, any help you guys can offer would be great!
