5-speed slop question

can someone please put their tranny in 3rd gear and estimate at the side to side play mine has about 1/2 - maybe 3/4 inch of side to side play is this normal only 2400 miles on it and there not hard miles

On my M coupe, with a 15/16 inch shortened from above M shift lever, the side to side when "pressed" to the limit is less than 1/2 inch. I also have properly sized front shifting arm Delrin bushings. Much better than stock.
