bluetooth

anyone else having problems with bluetooth? my phone pairs ok and everything works...but a few days later (usually around 5 days), the car stops recognizing the phone and my phone doesn't show up on the list anymore.

i then have to go to my phone, delete the entry, pair again, enter the passcode, etc.

i am on Sprint and have a PPC 6700.

i also have a Cingular Motorola PEBL. i don't use it as much but that hasn't lost the connection yet (it's been about 3 weeks).

RVD.

Yes. Same issue, although a different phone (Verizon Treo 700).

Initially the car recognized it without difficulty. There were some minor issues such as the addressbook not synching, and the caller ID always displaying the last number called, but it worked well using voice commands and all the onboard phone options.

Then...suddenly...nothing. The car no longer recognized the phone, and doesn't today.

Not sure what the problem is. I'm probably going to switch to an "approved" phone because I need my friggin' phone in the car!

Ocassionally my phone is not recognized, or will not connect. If I turn off the ignition, then restart the car all is well. Only happens once in a while, but is on my list of look into when next at the BMW store.

I just tried RVD's advice and deleted everything - and re-paired the phone. It now connects normally.

I've anxiously entered the "five day" test...

yeah, it still does this for me. once the car "forgets" about my phone, it's gone. restarting the engine, etc...doesn't do anything. it's like i never paired the phone in the first place.

so now, i try to get my wife to drive every 4-5 days so i can re-pair my bluetooth settings. it's a bit of a pain though.

seems odd that it will pair successfully and then just delete it after a few days.

No probs like that Thank God.

My Blackberry Pearl is good to go whenever I enter the car. I'm asked to accept the request from the bimmer and... voilla!

Mine is a CPT9000 BTMU by the way.

Are you asked each time? You shouldn't be if that's the case. Neither my E53 or E63 require that, IIRC under "device properties" on the phone for each connection, I said "yes" to trusted.
