Blue Tooth

Just took the car in to the shop yesterday, got a 325. Nice car to raace around in... hehehe. It had blue tooth capability in it, so I decide to see if it worked with my sprint razor. I had it working in about two minutes with no directions. Now only if that was available with me car. Crap!

Well it is possible (see my post on "vote for bluetooth retrofit" thread). But you'll have to spend about $2000 for the retrofit on your 745. unless it's a 03' model and up...it'll cost only half of that or you less...And it should be able to pair up with most decent phone that has bluetooth regardless of if they are on the approved list or not.

The bluetooth module is out for the CPT8000. If you call BMW they will tell you that it hasn't been release. the part # is 84-11-0-410-148. I'm ordering my from my local dealer today. Most dealerships are in the dark about this, be persistence and you can get it.

I just installed the BTUM bluetooth module to replace the CPT8000 phone. It is a different part than what is used for the CPT9000, but it essentially looks the same with a cord. Installation time is listed at 1 hour, but I was able to do it in about 25 minutes. It works perfectly. The only drawbacks are the phone book can only store 99 numbers and the bmw assist is permanently disabled by the CPT8000 BTUM. The list price is $340 which is a little higher than the CPT9000 version, but I think it was worth it.
