Key Battery acting a fool

Ok guys & ladies I have been noticing a problem with my key. I have a 2000 540 and sometimes the key light is dim and won't open the door. As i charge back the key (by putting it in the ign) the key works again. I figure the battery maybe seeing it's last days. Is it some special rechargeable batt I can get at Radio Shack or is this a stealer part. I checked the forum, but saw no leads.

Try this on for size, my key doesn't work either. Although the little red light on the key lights up. The trunk button inside the car doesn't work to open the truck and neither does the key in the trunk cylinder (and the trunk latch button doesn't work) The alarm made the battery go dead. And I had no way of getting in the car even with the key in the door. WTF!!! I can't even replace the battery cause the trunk doesn't open.
