04 M3 15,620 mls, full maint, CPO'ed, Mystic Blue/Gray, all options, $41,500. Fair??

Well, i'm down to my last breath, and looking for member feedback (which is VERY IMPORTANT to me).

So here it goes, for the last time.

2004 E46 M3
6MT (NOT SMG)
15,620 miles
full maintenance until 05/27/2008
CPO until 05/27/2010
Mystic Blue/Gray <== decent combination in popularity contest???
Says have all available options
cold weather pkg
premium pkg
adjustable seat width and lumbar support
PDC
Xenon
Navi
HK sound
Aluminum interior trim
19" M light-alloy wheels double spoke polished

a) Now get this. I was told that M3 doesn't come with the alarm system from factory, and is ONLY a dealer installed. Is that true? I own an E39 530i, and i thought all bimmer cars come factory equiped with alarm system as STANDARD equipement. Anyway, i was told the alarm system was another ~$600 for install at the dealership.

b) And the dealer is also asking $599 dealer service fee, which i was told, is the doc fee. Is this fair?

c) Mystic Blue Metallic/Gray <== decent combination in popularity contest???

So bottom line, what you all think? Fair deal? Good deal? Bogus deal? I'll most likely follow thes suggestion from the board members.

Thanks much!

Most (all now?) BMWs come with a factory keyless/alarm....but some don't. I believe th 04 M3 does. Easy to tell. If you can open the open key with key FOB the alarm is factory- if it has another FOB then it is not factory.

Dealers add all the fees they can- all are negotiable....it just depends on how serious they are to unload a car.

I don't like grey leather on BMWs- it doesn't wear well and looks bad after a few years. Doesn't matter the model (except maybe the M Z3s where the grey is darker and is not the majority of the color- but i could be biased as I has an Estoril with grey interior M roadster.

Mein Auto: Duh!
1) My E46 M3 did not come with an alarm (its an '05). My E90 did not have an alarm.
2) I would try to get them to drop the $599 dealer service fee.
3) Decent combination

My '04 did not come with a standard factory alarm.

Color combinations are always a personal choice, either you like it or you don't. I found the gray interior to be too bland for my taste, but others love it. I chose an imola interior, I love it, I'm sure others would hate it.

I think the car is priced a bit high (although I may not be factoring enough in for CPO). It appears to be a seller's market when it comes to e46 m3s....

Mein Auto: which day is this?
With the CPO, that's a good price.
