Found our new X5. What do you think?

Hi guys,
I found a 2005 X5 4.4i at a local dealership. I need your help deciding if we should go for it.

2005 X5 4.4i
Black Sapphire Metallic
Black Leather
Premium Package
Cold Weather Package
Rear Climate Package
Heated Steering Wheel
Xenons
Hi-Performance Stereo with DSP
Park Distance Control

22,500 Miles

$36,000 (We're working on $37,000 OTD) We got them down from nearly $43,000.

So what do you think. It sounds like a pretty good deal!

Sounds like a much better deal then the last 3.0 you were looking at. Not to much to say ... 36 sounds like a good deal or an 05 4.4 w/ low miles. It's still got enough factory warranty left for you to be covered for a while.

The only thing I'll mention ... I bought a similarly optioned 01 4.4... and everytime I drive by another X5 with the sport package I want their shadowline trim and headliner. If you really want to talk about lust ... just drive a 4.8is.

Good luck!

Haha. I know if I drive a 4.8 or 4.6 I'll have to have it. I don't have that kind of cash right now, unfortunately.

I really don't care for that chrome trim. I wonder how difficult that is to swap out.

Ohh, do non-sport X5s sit higher than sports? I know ZSP comes with sport suspension, but I don't know if there is a ride height difference.

CarMax offered $35k for our 04 4.4i with 34k miles, but it also had sport and 19s. Great deal IMO, especially from a dealer. Just make sure it has a clear title and verify that it hasn't gotten into a fender bender.

That shadowline trim is crazy expensive. Probably over 1K at the dealer parts counters. I know on the e39 board alot of people take the trim off and paint it instead. This is probably more resonable but they would need to be roughed up pretty well to get the paint to stick over the chrome.

Also, what color your headliner? I think only the sports come with the black headliner. So even with your all black interior you probably have a grey headliner in there...

Does it have the panoramic roof?

Wow! I honestly didn't expect it to cost so much. Maybe I'll track down a wrecked X5 3.0 or Sport 4.4 and gank it off that.

But its got the panoramic moonroof. I was amazed how fast this thing is. It puts my 325 to shame
