Using the G2
Read the piss/poor manual.
Based on its options, this camera needs some knowledge to operate it well. I'm used to the Nikon F with its attachments. The Canon power shot A5 zoom I use to use just worked. Going up the learning curve on my G2. Better pics, once I figure it out. |

Agreed!
It has taken me a while with the G1, as well. Frequently I have to use manual mode for really close up shots (either because of focusing or flash reduction). I haven't used my Canon F1 (35mm) in ages. I used to get some remarkable detail shots with it when doing restoration work. The F1 is about as manual a camera as you can get without using separate film/backs for each shot! Cannot argue the convenience of a digital camera though. If somebody asks for a picture of how a part goes in a car, and twenty minutes later they have it via E-mail
