Quick random question.

Sway Bars. I understand you're using Ground Control's E46 M3 bars. Rears bolt up without modification. Cool. If I will be installing the fronts with adjustable endlinks, what kind of modifications will be necessary? I read that the stock endlinks required shortening on the Z4M to accommodate the E46 M3 sways but with adjustables I assume this won't be necessary (provided, of course, that their range of adjustment allows them to be shortened enough). How much shortening did you need to do?

I probably won't go with the GC bars but rather with the UUC bars but I assume their geometry is similar.

Thanks in advance.

-I didn't perform the modifications, so I really don't know. Chris at BMS would be the one to ask. But don't assume that the answer would carry over to a UUC product.

I received a call from BMS today. My DME got back from ESS more quickly than I expected (24 hour turnaround). So I went down and reinstalled it and drove home. I was hitting the beginning of rush hour, so I didn't have much of a chance to rev it out on the surface streets. But something is certainly different! I found myself a little nauseous after a second gear pull to 7500rpm

At the risk of jumping the gun I think I need to call Eloy at RPI again and schedule a dyno run...

Good to hear she's running better now. Can I borrow her to run Infineon this weekend if BMW is still playing with mine? I promise I won't -urp- Bob in it!

There's something contagious goin on here with our coupes and track days.

*Update*
I was able to take the car out for a drive today and confirm that the car DEFINITELY pulls all the way to redline now. I don't know what AJ changed, but it seems to have worked. Gonna schedule another dyno run with Eloy.

Holy sheep dip. Just glad when we went to Willow Streets the car was down on HP. Went for a wicked ride tonight. The old butt dyno says the car has emproved. Much different than when the car first ran. More of a linear pull all the way through the band. None of this 6.5K and going flat now. Very quick and much smoother. I get to have a special treat tomorrow. Earl is heading north to party down and I will be taking his MC to the pre///MFEST event. So, I will actually get a chance to try it out for myself. Sounds like fun to me, I won't get much sleep tonight.

I got some pics emailed to me from btotoro. He let me borrow his Dynolicious today and after calibrating it I did a few runs. Apparently it also paid attention when I ran out 4th gear too (on a closed course of course!). As you can tell from the different peaks in different gears, I didn't input Scatha's weight correctly to calculate HP. But the time to speed seems about right.

In run #1 I didn't launch well and got wheelspin (see my notes). I also took a full 1/2 second to shift from 1st to 2nd. Other factors that increased my 0-60mph time are: no hard clutch drop, no slam shift (can grind 2nd gear as you other Z4 M owners know) and no power shifting. I'm not interested enough in a statistic to abnormally damage my car. It seems to me that with optimized launch procedures the car should do 0-60mph in about 4 seconds flat, maybe high-3s.

Run #2 was spontaneous. I was in 2nd gear, short shifted to 3rd and went WOT, shifted a little early to 4th and ran it up close to redline. This run would seem to corroborate blau335's assertion that a CFR500-equipped Z4 M will do 0-100mph in 9 seconds or less.

I'm not totally sold on the Dynolicious, but it's interesting and I may play more with it next time btotoro is around.

I need to find a nice LONGER quiet road and do some more tests. Dynolicous uses g forces right? I'm more comfortable with say OBDII log of speed or something.

Baby sat Scatha today. Took her to the Pre///mfest event. What a wicked ride. Very, very smooth and quite the lady, NOT. She is a blood thirsty, curb huggin, throttle lovin , HO. You know, stiletto wearing, skirt hickin, mind blowin, air suckin HO. Scatha a HO, not really, however, she did leave me wanting and tore my heart right out of my chest. Now all I need to figure what I need to sell just to get one of these. Sweet ride Earl and thanks for the chance.

Per your instruction, Don't have the doors open without the car running, and I got lost.

Pics from Scatha's adventure yesterday:

The Architecture of the building really compliments Scatha's aggressive body lines. That wasn't the case for my MC.

Earl, gotta play more with the Dynoliciousm and learn all the functions, just found out the option for the system start recording as soon as you roll and stops when you decelerate(auto mode). The airport would be a good testing ground to produce consistent data.
