*UPDATE*
So I brought my new Apex wheels back to Supreme Performance for re-balancing because of a shimmy that started happening after a few miles. Turns out the balance was perfect. The problem was that the H&R spacers didn't perfectly fit the center bore of the wheels. But the wheels fit the hubs and offer enough room to clear the calipers without spacers. I'll still have to run the spacers with the RG-Rs, where they seem to fit ok.

And for those of you who may have doubted that Scatha would still be a daily driver, here are two shots from running errands last week.

Her next scheduled showing will be at Savage BMW's Clean Car Contest on Sunday 6-5-11.

Thanks to a well-timed PM I will soon be in possession of manual/heated Imola seats. Installation of the seats seems very easy. However I am not sure how to go about hooking up the heaters. I figure I can order the appropriate buttons/plate using RealOEM part numbers. The real question is: Do the heater wires/clips exist on my car already? Can I simply find them behind the plate and hook them up to the new buttons? Or will I need to buy/run new wire harnesses to the seats?

What is the weight difference between manual and power seats?

The Roundel article on your car was an excellent read. Amazing art work Earl!

-Thanks Pal. I don't the weight difference for sure. I did some math years ago using data of which I am skeptical. That estimate was about 50lbs saved swapping both seats. But at this point I'd claim that as only a guess. We'll know pretty soon though. Once I have the seats I'll be doing my usual methodical weighing of everything.

Thanks guys. I would assume that manual seats and hardware would be lighter than power seats, motor and hardware.

Ron- Do they list the weight of the seats by themselves or does it include motor and hardware weight as well? I do like the OE seats and it would be nice to maintain the look and feel while losing some decent weight ...

-Ron, got any tips or suggestions on what I will need to do to convert from non-heated to heated seats?

See if this works. (WDS) It doesn't work for me. My browser is probably the problem.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...2&postcount=81

If it works, search seat heating for a start. A bunch from that. So you can see if the wires are in the connectors.

Purchase a BMW WDS disk from EBAY.

This past Saturday Scatha returned "home" to Willow Springs International Raceway for the first time since incorporating Willow in her new paint job. My brother-in-law Ken brought his "looks like stock" Mustang and helped out with photography duty. It was a very good day for both of us. I re-thought my approach to turn 9 and think I have it pretty much nailed now, with more midcorner speed and an extra 1mph at exit. With street tires I was turning in the 1:36s, which is only slightly slower than previous trips using NT-01s. Ken apparently had only been to Willow once before, for his first ever track day years ago. Since then he's tracked a lot but never had gotten back to Willow. His was the biggest improvement, dropping from over 2 minutes to a best of 1:39.6! So, a great day. Now on to pics...
