Yes, the market is over sold.

IIRC there are approx 4x more 'verts than coupes.

Talking ...Yeah

Why don't you just go ahead and buy that c4. Be sure to come back in a year and we will compare residual value.

We all know Porsche holds its value like a ice cube remaining solid in 80F degree weather.

Oh, there is a solid reason why a dealership would sell a car at invoice or above; I am sure you know why.

Finally, I going up to the dealer this weekend to check it out myself. If all checks out, I'll be driving away this weekend.

THANKS and go get the C4.

Actually the RSA held its value very well. It was picked up for 50 and sold for 49.5. Hell of a residual value after 12 years, huh?

Street vs. Dealer will always yield a higher sell. On average, residual is lack luster.

Feel sorry for the sap sucker who dropped 49.5 on a car 12 years + on a RSA. I guess it was a pristine garage queen with 1 mile on it from the original 50K purchase... But then again, this is the exception and not th rule; I would believe...

yea just like my 650i conv....the dealer offered me 60 on a 87000 car 8 months later, talk about not holding its value.....even the porsche holds up a little better than this, not much but better....like the dealer said to me the only car that holds it value these days is a Ferrari envertything else good luck....

Just from watching the market and searching Cars.com and Autotrader you will see that Carrera's are holding their value extremely well. M5's and M6's are dropping fast but M3's are stable.

don't worry, the M6 holds its value well.. any time I have seen one in an auction, they usually do pretty good.. I can't remember any prices as its been a while, but I remember being impressed..

As for porsches, some of them hold value, and some don't.. In general, the rule is that the higher you go, the more you lose in the first year... this is especially true of cars like the upper range carerras and the M6..

For example.. the Rolls Royce Phantom stickers for over 325,000.. I recently saw one that was barely a year old go for 280k in an auction.. How's that for depreciation?

Also, I hope you will agree that the RS America is a bit of a special case....

Actually that is pretty darn impressive. A year old Rolls only lost 15% of it's value? I suspect it will fetch much less. Like around $260k.

If your afraid of the value dropping then lease the M6, the risidual after 24 months is 71%. Let the lender worry about the value

FWIW, MSRP seems to be the going deal in So Calif. Anyone experience the purchase of an M6 cab under MSRP yet?

Upgrade to m6

I am so glad i didnt purchase the m6 convert yet...they just announced soft close doors,an enhanced audio system and a six speed manual for production 3/07...and better yet the dealer told me he would still sell me the car at $1000 over invoice so now i have to decide between this car and a porsche c4s convertible

M6 or cs4

So... Are you looking for the complete package or HIGH performance?

Have you drivin' the cs4? Give us your opinions--compare it in your opinion of the cabriolet M6...

Two of my friends who are the owners Engima Motor at Dublin CA and Prestige Auto at Sacrmento bought buys cars at Riverside auctions, they tell me M6 brings all the book. So what it seems likes this car is holding its value in California. Maybe its different in other areas.

Hard to believe offerings of $1,000 over invoice for a cabrio. What dealer is this, topfinadv, and are they still available?

C4S cabrio? Why you would want the slowest, heaviest 997 is beyond me. Just make sure you don't the Tip and end up looking like a total schmuck.

always liked the look of the bigger rear end on the car,and it is negligible interms of time from 0 - 60 and 100 than the c2s....but looking at the cost the m6 is about 7200 cheaper than the c4s cab on a 24 month lease and it is about 3000 more in terns of sticker....

According to the P1 Club in Britain, which buys and sells exotics for the club all the time, the M6 had a 47% depreciation after a year. They did say it also had the highest reliability in their fleet of cars. (March Issue of EVO)

Hey some of you should be happy. 2006 CL65's that had an msrp of $180,000 are now selling well below $100,000. A relative of mine just bought a used 2006 CL600 w/ 3000 miles on it for $82,000. We're talking about a $130,000 car here. And the dealer was glad to get rid of it for $82k. The car is pristine and spotless.
