Review of Driving Concepts event at Laguna Seca

A quick review of the advanced driving school with driving concepts on December 30th at Laguna Seca:

Very fun event, driving concepts was well organized and ran the event very well. Very similiar to a BMW CAA event, which is not suprising since it was run by the same instructors One thing that was different was that there was almost no dead time between driving and class time. We where pretty much always on the go. I had only 1 chance to go for a ride with a instructor

We did pretty well weather wise, dry for about 2/3 of the day. My last 2 sessions had heavy rain which was very educational and interesting.

Overall and very fun day and I highly recommend it to anyone considering attending one of their events.

P.S. The track representation on GT3 is pretty close, because difference I thought was that the real track is a lot tighter and the straightaways are a lot shorter.

Driving Concepts events always rock! BTW, you should also attend the Driving Concepts school which will be held at the Fontana Speedway the Thursday before TechFest West. The infield road course will be used, not the oval. I'm definitely going to attend.

Sounds fun but I think my next track event is the SDBMWCCA event at buttonwillow during the beginning of April

Sears Point is in March, since you haven't been, you should most definitely go. I'll be there, and I am pretty sure Raffi will too. Sears is awesome, especially when you are fast heading towards the armaco.

Actually, I drove sears point in my Audi. A bit of a drive from SoCal. You going to buttonwillow stuka?

$#@!, no, no Button Willow for me, and Hack as well. Our mutual friend is getting married that weekend.

You think they'll reschedule the wedding so I can go to Button Willow? So I HAVE to make Sears, otherwise I think I'll forget what an Apex is. Not that I ever did know what an Apex was, according to my DFL reputation.

Isn't the apex what's directly in front of your car as you go around the turn sideways?

Depends - Stuka usually misses the apex by about 6 feet - especially when a certain 330ci is all over his butt!

no, that is the secret quarter mile lane at Laguna Seca. Dont you know about it

Got to ride in this modified 993 turbo in the rain, very sick.

DOH! Good point. Gee, I can't imagine any other white M3s being at a BMW track school.

The track engineer's is a little easy to spot by his license plate frame if you are there again.
