Remote Start Availability

So I ordered an X5 for my wife (loaded 4.8) and the dealer says that you can't install a remote starter on these cars. Living in the Northeast makes a remote starter a nice option, especially in the winter. Any of you guys know of a company that make a remote starter for the 07 X5?

The reason you cannot install the remote start is due to the key. The vehicle MUST register a key (in the ignition or by way of comfort access) prior to starting.

The only was around it would be to leave a key in the vehicle near the ignition slot. But then anyone can drive your vehicle since you have a start button now.

Long and short... It does not appear that you will enjoy the remote start aftermarket unit. You will have to wait for someone willing to design a kit for the vehicle and I do not think they will.

Thanks for the explanation.
