I rechecked tonight, after it took 14 seconds to download 16MB file. I've seen download speeds close to that before, but what amazes me is my upload speed. In the past, with Comcast, I never got above 300Kb/s. It sucks, because I don't need the upload speed as much as I used to when it was slower.

Actually, at work I get 1.5Mbps up and down, so its always been faster to download from home, but now its as fast to upload.


EDIT: I was in the process of saying typing how much I like the fact that my internet connection almost never fails, when I lost contact with the internet. First, I figured it was cable modem but I couldn't bring up my router's setup screen so I rebooted the router and still no connection with its setup screen. I could still talk to my upstairs computer (which talks through wireless) so eventually I figured out it was good old IE7 that had gone to pieces. After a reboot, it ok again. All hail Microsoft (with stones, insults, etc.)!

Mine sucks. I hate Earthlink.
