That was a good read - I enjoy working on my car - the best thing about BMW's is that they are a drivers car. It's true you do need a big wallet.

Yeah car drivers can be a bit different.
It is also another topic on cars look at all the car clubs and drivers that spend that extra cash investing on their cars.
Not for the average do it yourselfer or street mechanic all their interested itīs on fixing problems.

I'd rather keep things OEM than go aftermarket, i'm at that age when blinged out rims don't have the same appeal as they once did. I'd rather have stock M Sport Rims from an e92 with a staggered set up over a 20'in Lexani rim or others similar

You should check a few other items before taking drastic measures. A trans fluid itīs only part of a major tune up fluid change.

things about E36's, funny but true!

I have done a lot on this list!

My car just started "popping" if I sit, car idling, I can hear a "pop pop" noise under the hood and it'll keep doing it once it starts. It's not every time though. And it happens randomly. It goes "pop pop"......"pop pop"......"pop pop"...... It's repetitive.

I also have to replace the coolant temp sensor I'm sure.. It's bouncing around. It'll go up for a min, back down to norm, half up and back down and everything in between. I had a wire come out, fixed it and still does it. I haven't gotten paid yet so I haven't been able to buy it. I've had the temp checked (friends at shops are great!!) and it's norm temp even when it rises. Coolant level is also going off since I bought the car but coolant is always at perfect level when cold.

And I am waiting on my blower motor resister to come in now because the dang thing went out last mth of summer in Az! I ordered it and the company messed up so I had to go threw it all over again.. Ugh!

I just done my Trans fluid a cple mths ago at home! Whew! Time to do oil now (what's best?) when I changed it I got it done at jiffy lube they used a euro blend. I want to do it this time at home.

Vacuum leak on a hose I think.. Haven't found it yet!
Shop told me the loud squeal noise it always makes is coming from the alternator but it's only about 9mths old...?
When I 1st start the car it flutters and stumbles.. Has fumble noise out of exhaust till it runs for about 45 seconds then it settles and goes away.. No clue! Bf thinks it's head gasket but is afraid to pull it all off right now because it's my only ride and I can't have any down time.
Oh!!! And the weirdest thing!!!!! I checked all my fluids one day, took the oil cap off with it running and the car started fumbling really bad and acted like it was dying. Put cap back on and just fine!

Sorry guys I didn't mean to bug I just seen that I've done a lot of the original post and figured maybe you can help!

Tricia
