Have you even checked the definition of rice? Or does your vocabulary not stretch that far? a nissan is not a honda. Im sure your whale gets great fuel economy.

I was trying to refrain from jumping in to this mess, but you're really making those of us who can drive tastefully done, fast Japanese sports cars look like retards and jackasses.

1) Rice is not a specifically Honda term. Its anything with tons of decals, neons, fake carbon fiber, useless visual mods on a slow car, fart cans, 747-sized wings, etc, in any combo of the above. It applies to any tacky Japanese car with any of those "mods". There can even be American "rice" when the stupid poor people take and do that to Cavaliers and crap. The Neo--errr, SRT-4 is very much ricey, with the boy racer wing and stuff.

2) The wing on that car would NOT be beneficial. He would need much more effective front spoilers, or else he's just robbing the front of traction.

3) If you have a Z and no plans of getting a Bimmer, why are you even on here? You're just putting out flamebait.

4) Why are you talking about fuel econ? a) Who really cares that much? b) Hands down the 3-series get 5 or 6 mor MPG than the Z.

I drive (drove) a Supra, no visual mods whatsoever. All my plans were only to keep the exterior in the good condition it was in, and just mod actual performance areas, in the order needed - IE engine, suspension, brakes, drivetrain, repeat. Toss in effective body mods when actually useful. A car is only ricey when it has overtly useless (which are usually tasteless) modifications. By your attitude, you sound like a 20-yr old kid with a stock engined Z with MAD TYTE JDM EXHAUST, YO! and an intake, and 3 ft tall wing and 20" SPINNERZZZZZ.

Any pictures of your "not-rice" car? Notice I said "YOUR", not someone elses nicely done Z.

Trust me buddy, The make of the car does not constitute rice. Things like big huge wings on FWD cars, fart cans, and wheels and stereos worth more than the car is what constitutes rice.

Now, lets talk about my "whale". First off, it's an ENTRY level vehicle in the BMW line up. What's Nissan's? Oh, what's that? A Sentra? Lets say we place a Sentra and a 3 series on ANY track and see what wins shall we? Secondly, not saying the 300zx is not a formidable vehicle, however it is a far cry from entry level. It is Nissan's flagship sports car. Gee, lets pit that against a true BMW sports car. I wonder what would win. Actually, I don't have to wonder because I already know.

I'm totally with Phantom... Any car, even a BMW can be riced out.

My Z? Alright, its a factory exterior with 17 inch polished Hasemi racing mags.. no I dont want a 20' exhaust hanging from my Z, no, I dont want a huge ass wing, I actually like Z's with NO WING... I dont care about fuel economy myself, I dont even get 350kms to a tank around town in my Z. I hate veilside kits, they are gawdy rubbish pieces of ****. I hate park bench wings etc etc etc,. You want pics of my car? have a look at my sig, it wont be changing much from that apart from probably updated 99 j spec tail lights and labree quad tip exhuast (similar to a corvette style). Im trying to turn my car back to mint original condition myself, much like you and your Supra.. I get enough looks as it is in my Z, its even been called a Ferrari

Quite honestly, your car does look very nice, assuming that the car in your sig is, in fact, yours.

Now if you got rid of your boy racer attitude and quit bashing the forums for no reason, we'd have no problem with you. Its just a different taste in cars-you can't possibly say that a BMW has a cheap interior in comparison to the Z interior. You can't argue that Bimmer's are generally better built cars. Those are just facts. Just like, yes, the Z will beat most any stock Bimmer 3-series. Differnt cars for different reasons. I can appreciate your car, why must you bash BMWs?

My cousins skyline pulled 11.20s and had 280kw@Rear wheels.
Doesnt look like the z is very fast!
My mate is only 17 and he has a 10 second vl turbo. But before his cousin sold it to him, it was detuned to 12s. Still very fast for a 17 to be 18 year old. He will most likely neck himself. Hopefully he wont kill himself

One thing I never hear mentioned in relation to these cars is timing. Lots of other cars seem to need the belt/chain replaced around 100K and I'm wondering if it's anything I need to worry about for my smooth running '95 325I with 106K miles on it? The dealership is far away and seems to create more problem$ than they fix and my local mechanic evaded the question. Who knows the scoop about E36 timing belt/chain replacement issues?

Most cars have belts which stretch and need replacing matey. Our bimmers have chains which are MUCH stronger and so generally never need changing
