Mein Auto: A car.
FWIW I've never had to replace the brake light switch. The OBC alarm is sometimes caused by corrosion on the brake bulb holders...

The rear light clusters on the E36 are poo!

Same problem here, very bad contacts because of the system that is used. After-market clusters were even worse because they were cheap so I put in the OEMs again and seem to be okay generally.

Heh totally agree!

I had to fish out a bulb that had fallen into the enclosure only to touch the energised metal....snap goes the fuse *sigh*

I guess its my own stupidness though, but way to go BMW. Beautiful manufacturing technique ya got there!

This is one that's been "intermittently" driving me crazy for years but then it goes away for awhile so I've put off doing anything about it. I recently had someone else drive my car while I followed in my truck and I noticed that the left outboard tail light was slightly dimmer than on the right side. I played with it and found that just twisting the bulb holder (very!) slightly seemed to brighten it up so it matched the other side. Now I think I'll try the pencil eraser and exacto knife idea and see if I can get that brake circuit warning to stay off permanently and maybe it will help keep my bulb brightness level even too.

I have had the intermittent circuit warning since I bought my car, I thought I"d never get rid of it. I replaced the switch about 3 months ago, still same problem occurs, and YES it drove me crazy trying to find the the problem. So recently I replaced the swich again and fixed the problem. The cause was a defective switch.....mystery solved!!

I found a great way to keep the "brake circuit failure" light off ... I just never use my brakes.

Haha. This list is pretty funny. Mostly because I have had to deal with most of these problems.

i havent deal with any yet.

ALSO, bmw are notorious for leaking oil via a camshaft because of a cheap $2 gasket thats prone to cracking. I dont know if thats on the list, ive delt with it before and soo have pirate pete

I've only had the radiator hose break, couldn't even drive half a mile without having to pull over to let it cool. It wasn't cheap to fix either $600, looking back I probibly could've done it myself, oh well.
