having trouble with my 2002 745i

i have been having trouble with my 2002 745i i love the car it has been the best car i have ever driven but recently when i come to a stop and the car downshifts to 1st gear it feels like a lurch or a soft thump i can feel it i took it to the dealer they said they updated my software but it still does the same thing and today my bass went out on the logic seven sound system can anyone please help me?? what do you think it is? also i replaced my torque converter yet the same problem.

Don't know about the shifting problem, but the bass on my Logic 7 did the same thing. They changed out my battery and it fixed it. Hope this helps.

My 02 745i has the same rough 2nd to 1st down shift problem. I brought it to dealer twice and they said everything met spec.

I thought it was just my imagination! Yeah, our car does that too, I'll have them check it out next time I take it in.

Same here but is only noticeable with hard stops

I had an issue with my 745. basically the rpm would stay at 2000 even after coming to a halt ...so they had replaced the tranny for us...and now voila...everything is good

Just posted a comment about this as well. My bass cuts in and out, my transmission shifts when I am coming to a stop causing me to have a few close calls in regards to rear ending people. They said the software upgrade would help, and after returning it to me, he said it still does it but it checks out. I am guessing once the warranty runs out, I will have some problems. Also, my battery was replaced less than 12 months ago. Lastly, my car idles around 500. Is this normal? Most cars I have had are around 750. When I first start it, the idle is rough. Maybe I should just take it back in

This is a known problem with the transmission that the warranty should cover if your car is under 100K miles. I had the same problem with my '02 745i. The service guy at the dealership tried updating my software which did not work, so he ended up swapping out my whole transmission which fixed the problem.
