Mein Auto: 335i
Question Sony Bluetooth CD/MP3

I have a Sony MEX-BT5100 head unit and was thinking of putting it in my '07 335i. Can I use an aftermarket head unit while retaining the rest of the factory stereo (amps)? I really miss listening to Pandora and songs on the Iphone. Getting an adapter costs as much as replacing the head unit. Any ideas?

I have purchased an iSimple one for my wife's '05 Z4, but it kept cutting in and out. Where the 20ft cord plugs in to the iPhone was very sensitive, so if you barely touched it, the unit would cut off. I used a FM modulated one too, but had the same issues plus the sound quality was terrible. Nothing worse than listening to Pandora on a fuzzy radio station that is attenuated.
