Question Question for Ron, re: chips and dips

Where better to ask this question than on a board frequented by the best in BMW enthusiasts?

So my question to Ron (and others, but primarily Ron) is this:

Did you ever run an aftermarket software on your S52 M Coupe? I remember some colorful posts that revolved around some of these issues, especially a certain one that need not be mentioned.

After riding in S54's, they're so_damned smooth. I'd like to smooth out the response of my S52, and I've been told by many and read that the injector or possibly Dinan software will do this. Then you have the smack about OBDII adaptive programming.

So what's your honest view? All personal likes or dislikes aside. We (I) highly value and respect your input and would like to know what you think before I make a move.

I currently have a Conforti CAI because a friend was selling it for $200 and I love the growl at 4k+. I also appreciate the design of this and the ECIS vs. the Dinan putting the filter at the ground. Only other drive-related modification is UUC clutch stop because I didn't know you made one!

Thanks!
Adam

>>>It's getting better. This is a well run forum and I like the way that it works. Still a lot of watchers, but that's fine too. Hopefuly, it stays an interesting on topic forum.

>>>I had the Conforti intake and injector (only way to go) in my '00 M coupe.
I remember some colorful posts that revolved around some of these issues, especially a certain one that need not be mentioned.
>>>That post, which got me in his asshole bucket, was related to the injector and intake availability for the S54 motor in my '01 M coupe. That post was made 02/08/02. Almost a year now, and we are still waiting.
After riding in S54's, they're so_damned smooth.
>>>You should upgrade to one.

>>>I'm not impressed with my one Dinan software experience. The S54 is constant never ending power. It sure seems that way when you just give it some gas or nail it. No peaks. It is all peak (smooth).
So what's your honest view? All personal likes or dislikes aside. We (I) highly value and respect your input and would like to know what you think before I make a move.
>>>Go with Conforti. Shawn Fogg measured a gain with the intake. We never finished trying to check out the injector. It did increase the timing.

Perfect, thanks!

My plan was to go with the Conforti injector to compliment the CAI. I think you got the last AW S54 built Plus I might start saving for a Mini.

I found that old thread a few weeks ago, and while you kept your composure, it really made me wonder whether or not I wanted to put any money in Jim's pocket, but he makes a quality product, so I have to give credit where due.

Thanks again Ron!
