Would a 1997 740 engine or any other drop right in and bolt up to the motor mounts ??
I'm trying to buy my friends 1995 740i but it needs a motor and I dont wanna pass the car up if it a good deal . I heard the 1995 740 always has problems so i would like to put a newer 740 engine in it . I dont care about replacing the engine i love working on cars and i have the money and time right now .

and i found this "The only permanent fix for this problem is the replacement of the short block with the equivalent block using Alusil linings, which do not exhibit this corrosion problem." so how do i get the alusil linings in a m60b40 ?? where would i take it to get that done and how much is it ?? and does it really need to be done or can i just always put the right gas in the car and its all good ?
