735I starts off SLOW!!

its an 88 735i with 204k miles but the engine has been rebuilt and a new re manufactured auto tranny was put in at 200,000 miles......i just bought the car so it was like this when i bought it. wat it does is...when u start off liek accelrate it goes VERY slow up until about 20-30 then it has a lil more power to accelerate....and it seems as if it stays in one gear.but dunno which one.....like when im crusin at 60-80 the rpms are between 3 an 4...which is VERY HIGH and UNSUAL!!....some one have this hapen them and wat did u do to fix it..

man thats a old car try throttle body gaskets dont no to say for sure

Go back to whoever rebuilt the transmission. It sounds like you are locked in 3rd which is the failsafe mode.
