H&R RACE Springs

If you are running H&R Race springs on your E39 please let me know what you think of the ride quality.

I didn't notice much difference between them and my old OEM sport springs.

I would get them, but they are to low for my liking over the H&R Sport Springs, which I am pairing with Bilstein HD's for an almost stock sport look

Is the drop what you expected? What shocks did you match with them?

I want lower than sport and slightly stiffer.

I have to confirm that the race springs are what I have (they MAY be the 'sports').. I don't want to lead you down the wrong road.. I'll see if i can get hold of the guy who ordered and installed them for me.

what is the part # and what shocks/struts did you mate it with?

So you would rate the H&R Sports as comparable to factory sport? What shocks are you using?

Is anyone running H&R Race springs? I would like to know what you think of the ride quality.

I expect they will be a bit stiffer than factory sport springs, but the question is by how much?

On a different track now. What about H&R coilovers in general? Where do they rate in the stiffness category to say Eibach or Sachs coilovers, or any other coilovers?

I'm using the stock shocks.. the ride is not much different at all from my OEM springs.. but the car sits where it should

How does it behave when you hammer it? I'm getting tired of my front end lifting so much.

I'm wondering the same question. I was debating replacing the H&R sports for the race springs, I want something lower and stiffness is not a problem. Intrax was also on my list, whatever dropped it the most besides coilovers.

I think H&R race only makes the springs for the 540.

Performance aside for a sidebar discussion, you know what would be nice.... some comparison photos (side shots) of different setups. Mainly different springs since that is what dictates drop.

both are for the 540.

i have the race sitting here waiting to be mated with a set of shocks/struts. not sure which one to go with.

HMMM, my springs are the blue versions... are we sure those are the race versions? If so, that is what I have.. they are definitely blue!

In an earlier post to me you confirmed that you had the Sport not the Race. Hmmmm indeed.

i called tirerack today because I wanted to know the color of the Sports, they emailed me back saying they are all dark blue, which is what I am looking for an almost stock dark color, the race springs in pictures are red in color..but may vary
